𝑺𝒂𝒛𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒄 ~ "Cousin" to the Old Fashioned

When the holiday normally calls for a cookout, an impromptu trip to New Hope, Pennsylvania started at the Great Barn Taproom with a refreshing beer flight on this sunny 4th of July

After a stroll through one of my favorite towns with beautiful homes lining the canal towpath, art galleries, artisan shops and oh so much good food a small group of us settled on an early dinner at The Landing

I love a good Old Fashioned and am always in search of the best in the area. 𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙄 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙎𝙖𝙯𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙘, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 "𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣" 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙡𝙙 𝙁𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙙. It is a much fuller cocktail than most would prefer. Actually, more than I prefer, however, I am expanding my palate more and more.

I was hoping for smooth and bold but found this one to be harsher with the bitters overpowering the rye.

While I did enjoy the beautiful relaxing views on the deck overlooking the river, I would have to rate today's Sazerac experience with a 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.

If you haven't yet experienced New Hope in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I highly recommend you make a day (or weekend) of it as there is so much to see and do and host to beautiful accommodation options in and around the area.

Cheers!
